Clusters Workshop #1

My Experience at the Clusters College Workshop: Learning Scripting & Story Writing

Scriptwriting Workshop held at Clusters College

Recently, I had the privilege of attending a very fruitful workshop on scriptwriting at Clusters College, Coimbatore. The workshop was handled by Mr. P. Thirumalaisamy. The session opened the deeper insights on how ideas grow into narratives that could have real power in terms of structure, character, and dialogue. It went on to say that scriptwriting is not writing scenes but actually writing a story that is interesting to the audience.
What I learned from the Workshop:

Concepts on Strong Story Creation

Even a small idea or imagination might be conceived as a tale with great significance. We talked about different fabulous ways, such as mind mapping and free writing, that could also be based on an event in real life from which new and fresh stories could evolve.

Character Construction & Depth

Well-defined characters make a story memorable. One would make a character's motivation, strength, and weakness much more descriptive for such a character, thus making the character relatable and realistic in the story.

Structuring Stories

A good script gives a clear introduction, has conflict, is climaxed, and ends with a resolution. It should keep an audience intact from start to finish.
